Utility Bill Manager

The new Utility Bill Manager is a HTML5 web application that is bundled with Periscope 2.4.  The Utility Bill Manager provides an easy to use interface to manage utility bills.  Bills can be added, edited, and removed which will automatically update Periscope with the changes.  This offers a rapid way to provide data for your dashboard.

Utility Bill Integration

Periscope 2.4 includes a new trend type called UtilityBillRecord which extends normal Niagara AX trends to model utility bills.  These trends now contain columns for start date, end date, consumption, and cost.  Periscope supported drivers have also been updated to create trends of this new type, including CSV Mapper, Energy Star driver and Utility Mapper.

Periscope 2.4 intelligently normalizes these new trend types to more accurately compare and view utility bills in existing Periscope viewlets.  For example, some times two bills may occur in the same month and none the next month.  Periscope intelligently splits bills up so that normalized values would show up on every month of the year.  In addition comparing bills is often difficult due to the varying number of days per bill.  This years March bill may have 25 days and last years could have 32.  Periscope will normalize bill days automatically to provide accurate bill comparisons.

Custom Units

Periscope Config now includes the ability to specify custom units.  These custom units can be applied to trends and points and will show up as normal units throughout Periscope. Custom unit configuration is accessible via the global properties.

Data Correction

Viewlet trend data can now be modified directly from Periscope viewlets.  This includes the ability to "auto" correct bad points which could be caused by a meter rollover or device that is down.  This feature can be used by clicking on a data point in Periscope 2.4 and then clicking on the pencil to edit the data.  If the selected point is a rolled up value the user will be presented with a chart and table to assist in pinpointing the problematic point(s).

Weekends Overlay

Weekend Overlays can now be added to several viewlets in Periscope 2.4.  A new checkbox is available in the viewlet configurations for:

  • Dual Axis
  • Line Chart
  • Column Chart
  • Area chart
